I’m the New Co-Host of the Business Animal Podcast
Quick Answer:
I’m officially the new co-host of the Business Animal Podcast alongside Kimberly Beer. The show is for people building businesses in the equine, pet and agricultural world, with conversations about marketing, business, leadership and what it actually takes to make all of those things work in real life.
New episodes drop twice a month on Tuesdays.
And yes, this feels like a pretty natural extension of what I’m already doing through Unbridled Business.
So, This Is Happening
I’m officially joining the Business Animal Podcast as a co-host.
Which is exciting.
And also makes a ton of sense.
And feels very “oh yeah, this tracks.”
If you've spent any time around me or Unbridled Business, you already know that I have a lot to say about marketing, business, leadership and the systems we build to make all of it actually work.
Apparently, now someone is giving me a microphone on a regular basis.
This seems wise.
The Business Animal Podcast gives us a place to have the kinds of conversations that don't always fit neatly into a blog post or checklist. We can dig into the decisions behind the marketing, what happens when the textbook answer doesn't fit the actual business, and the reality of trying to run a company when time, money and energy are not unlimited resources.
Because they're not.

Why the Business Animal Podcast Fits So Well With Unbridled Business
Animal-based businesses come with their own particular brand of chaos.
You're working with people.
You're working with animals.
You're dealing with schedules, weather, money, marketing, client expectations and occasionally an animal who has decided that whatever you had planned for today is absolutely not happening.
That changes how business advice works in the real world.
The Business Animal Podcast is a place to talk about marketing and business with those realities still attached.
How do you decide where to spend your marketing time?
How do you know whether something is actually working?
How do you build systems that support the business instead of creating more work?
What do you do when the thing everyone says you “should” be doing makes absolutely no sense for you?
Those are the same kinds of conversations I'm having through Unbridled Business and my work teaching marketing for photographers.
Now I get to have some of them with a microphone in front of me.
A Quick Note About the Co-Host Change
Before I go any further, there's someone important I want to acknowledge.
My good friend and book co-author Cara Taylor Swift previously co-hosted the Business Animal Podcast and helped shape the show into what it is today.
Cara and I wrote Equine & Equestrian Photography Poses That Sell together, and we're working on our second book. She's thoughtful, smart and someone I respect deeply.
So this isn't a dramatic podcast changing-of-the-guard story.
No scandal.
No overturned tables.
The podcast is simply moving into its next chapter, and I'm excited to be part of it.
Meet My Co-Host, Kimberly Beer
I'll be co-hosting the Business Animal Podcast with Kimberly Beer.
One of the things I think will make these conversations useful is that Kim and I don't always approach business from exactly the same direction.
Good.
Two people agreeing with each other for an entire podcast would get boring pretty quickly.
We each bring our own experiences, ideas and ways of looking at a problem. Sometimes those perspectives overlap. Sometimes we'll approach the same question from completely different directions.
The goal isn't to flatten that into one official Business Animal Answer.
It's to have the conversation.
Because there usually isn't one marketing system, business model or productivity method that's magically right for everyone.
I'd much rather give you a few different ways to think about a problem and let you decide what actually makes sense for your business.
Who Is the Business Animal Podcast For?
The Business Animal Podcast is for people building businesses in the equine, pet and agricultural world.
If you're trying to market your business without turning marketing into another full-time job, you'll find plenty to talk about with us.
If you're trying to make smarter business decisions, we'll talk about that too.
Leadership, systems, branding, sustainability, what's working, what's not working and the occasional business idea that sounded considerably better before we actually tried it?
Also fair game.
And while my work through Unbridled Business primarily serves photographers, the podcast gives me the opportunity to have broader conversations with people throughout the animal-business world.
Why I’m Excited About It
I’m Betsy Bird, founder of Unbridled Business and co-host of the Business Animal Podcast with Kimberly Beer.
Through Unbridled Business, I teach photographers about business, marketing, communication, systems, AI, image competition and all the other pieces that come with trying to build a photography business that actually works.
The podcast doesn't replace any of that.
It gives me another place to explore it.
And because the Business Animal audience extends beyond photographers, it also gives me the opportunity to learn from and talk with business owners throughout the animal industry.
I like that.
A lot.
When Do New Episodes Come Out?
New episodes of the Business Animal Podcast are released twice a month on Tuesdays.
So you can listen while you're driving to a session, editing, mucking stalls, walking the dog or doing whatever task you've been putting off because listening to a podcast makes it slightly less annoying.
Want to Listen?
If you run an animal-based business and you've ever thought, Sure, that business advice sounds great, but how exactly is that supposed to work in my actual life?
Come hang out with us.
Take what works.
Leave the rest.
That's kind of the point.
