Equine & Equestrian Photography Poses That Sell Hits #1 on Amazon's Hot New Releases List

Well, this is pretty exciting!

Equine & Equestrian Photography Poses That Sell: The Ultimate Guide to Posing Horses & Humans, the book I co-wrote with Cara Taylor Swift, hit #1 on Amazon's Hot New Releases list in its category!

We wrote this book because posing horses and their humans isn't quite the same as posing your average portrait client. For starters, one of your subjects weighs 1,200 pounds, has a mind of its own, and may decide that the grass on the other side of the fence is considerably more interesting than whatever you're trying to accomplish.

And that's before you figure out what to do with the human.

As lifelong equestrians and professional horse photographers, Cara and I understand the challenges that come with photographing horses and their people. We also know that good posing involves a lot more than making everyone look nice.

The way you position a horse can affect everything from its appearance to the safety of everyone involved. How you pose the person alongside that horse can make the difference between an awkward portrait and an image that shows the relationship between them.

And when you create images your clients genuinely connect with, they're much more likely to want those images in their homes.

That's why we filled this book with practical posing techniques, safety considerations, and advice you can actually use during your sessions.

Whether you're an experienced equine photographer looking for new posing ideas or a portrait photographer who's starting to work with horses, our goal was to create a resource that helps you photograph horses and humans confidently, safely, and in ways that lead to images your clients love.

We're pretty darn excited that the book made Amazon's Hot New Releases list, and we hope it becomes a resource you reach for when you're planning your next equine portrait session.
