What's Getting In Your Way?

You probably don't need to fix your entire equine photography business.

You just know something isn't working the way you want it to.

You're not getting enough inquiries. You never know what to say when someone does inquire. Your workflow is held together with sticky notes and good intentions. Or you're doing a lot of things right, but you have no idea what you should work on next.

That's what this page is for.

Start with the problem that sounds the most like you. We'll figure out where to go from there.

01. I Want Better Photographs

You know your way around a camera, but you're looking at your images and thinking, I know this could be better.

You're struggling with posing horses and people together, getting consistent results with different horses, choosing the right light or location, or creating the image you saw in your head before your horse decided he had other plans.

Or you've started entering image competition and you're trying to understand why an image you love isn't scoring the way you expected.

And then there are the images you've simply stared at for so long that you can't tell what's working anymore.

Getting better isn't about finding one magic camera setting or copying someone else's style. It's learning to see what's working, recognize what isn't, and know what to do differently the next time you pick up your camera.

Here's where you can start.

02. I Never Know What to Say

Sometimes the hardest part of running an equine photography business isn't taking the photographs.

It's figuring out what the heck to say the rest of the time.

Someone inquires. What do you say?

They ask about pricing. How do you explain it without writing a novel?

You need to follow up. How do you do that without feeling like you're bugging them?

Then there are the conversations about weather, locations, what to wear, what to do with the horse, rescheduling, products, pricing, and all the other things nobody mentioned when you decided being a photographer sounded like a good idea.

If you've ever stared at a blank email for twenty minutes trying to make one perfectly normal sentence sound...normal, you're in the right place.

Good communication should sound like you and make it easy for your clients to understand what happens next.

Here's where you can start.

03. I'm Not Getting Enough Inquires

You're posting on social media.

You've got a website.

You're blogging, sending emails, running promotions, showing up at horse shows, talking to barns, or trying whatever marketing idea someone swears completely changed their business.

And still...not enough of the right horse owners are reaching out.

The answer probably isn't another Reel.

Before you add three more things to your marketing list, let's figure out who you're actually trying to reach, where those people are, what matters to them, and why the heck they should hire you.

You don't need to be everywhere.

You need to be where the right people can actually find you.

Here's where you can start.

04. I'm Tired of Winging It

You know that feeling when you're pretty sure there's something you're supposed to be doing...but you can't remember what it is?

Client information lives in three different places.

You rewrite the same emails every time someone books.

You're trying to remember who needs to pay, who needs a reminder, who needs help preparing for their session, and whose gallery you promised you'd send yesterday.

At some point, your brain cannot continue being the entire business-management system.

You don't need seventeen automations and a flowchart you need another flowchart to understand.

You need simple, repeatable ways to handle the things you do over and over so you can stop reinventing the wheel every time someone books.

Here's where you can start.

05. AI Feels Overwhelming

Every five minutes, there's a new AI tool you're apparently supposed to know about.

One person says AI is going to change everything. Someone else says it's going to ruin everything.

Meanwhile, you're just trying to figure out whether any of it can make running your photography business easier.

It can.

But you don't need to use every tool, automate your entire life, or hand over the parts of your business that should still sound and feel like you.

AI can help with marketing, brainstorming, research, planning, writing, organization, and some of those jobs that somehow eat two hours when you were absolutely certain they'd take twenty minutes.

The trick is knowing what AI is good at, what it isn't, and how to use it without ending up sounding like everyone else with a ChatGPT account.

Here's where you can start.

06. I Don't Know What to Do Next

Nothing is completely falling apart.

But something isn't quite working, either.

Your website needs work. You should do more marketing. Your pricing could use another look. You need better systems. You want to improve your photography. You should learn more about AI. You need to build relationships with more barns. And that email list is still sitting there waiting for you to actually email it.

Now you have so many possible next steps that you've somehow reached the logical conclusion of doing...none of them.

You don't need to tackle the whole list. You need to figure out which thing is most likely to make a difference right now and start there.

Here's where you can start.

Still Not Sure Where to Start?

That's okay.

When you've been staring at your own business for long enough, figuring out what's actually wrong with it can become half the problem.

That's what mentoring is for.

Bring me the messy version. We'll look at what's working, what's not, what you're trying to build, and what actually deserves your attention first.

You don't need to show up with a perfectly organized list of questions.

We'll figure it out together.

Rein in the Chaos. Grow Unbridled.
